Educational Background

PRIMARY SCHOOL

My class during my final year in primary school, I am at the top right corner.
From the year 2008 to 2013, I was enrolled into Montfort Junior School, a neighbourhood school. It was a small school located near my home at Hougang.Back then I was a pretty objective person and only focused on my studies.I did not have a phone to keep me entertained as well, so naturally I turned over to reading books to keep me busy.By doing so, it helped make my English language exceptionally strong. For studies, the teachers at MJS (Montfort Junior School) were very professional at teaching and in making sure that everybody was able to keep up.I took the usual 4 subjects;English, Mother Tongue, Math and Science.Besides English, I was struggling with the other 3 subjects. This meant that I had to stay back after school for remedial classes in order to keep up with my studies. It was troublesome, but I oddly enjoyed that time since I had my friends with me. In terms of friends, I was comfortable with all of my classmates, however I soon realized that I often hung out with the same two friends all the time. Nevertheless, MJS has helped build on my fundamental understanding on basic subjects that I am able to apply in my daily life.
SECONDARY SCHOOL
Photos of my awesome class in secondary school.
From the year 2014 to 2017, I was enrolled into Victoria Secondary School. The school is located at Siglap which is very far from my home, so I had to wake up early in the morning; at around 5am, to arrive at school on time. In the beginning, I was very nervous as the school has a high reputation and they expect very high standards from its students. This meant that I had to constantly work hard in order to do well in my studies. I had a tough time in secondary school in terms of my academics. During tests or exams, I would obtain an average score or even fail. I had to attend extra classes after school and this would result in me ending school during evening to night time. However, the support from the teachers were great. They would stay with the students until we got the concepts right. They would also give us many practice papers to complete so that we are able to master the elements of the subjects.
The class and I love to play soccer.
However, the highlight of those 4 years was definitely the friends that I have made. My class was small as compared to the rest, only consisting of about 25 students. It was also diverse since many of us came from all sorts of backgrounds. My class was sports oriented, so during recess, we would always play football in the school field. We also grew close to the teachers who taught us, and they would sometimes join us for games. Also, as the ‘O’ Level Examinations were coming closer, the class would meet up with teachers during the weekend to consult them on any doubts or concepts. We would also plan outings such as going to the movies or bowling. For studies, we will constantly help one another if there were any doubts. Even though the class was small, I had such a great experience with them. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better class and I miss them dearly.
POLYTECHNIC
My current class.
Now comes the next milestone in my academic life, polytechnic. As of now, I am a student of Singapore Polytechnic and I am studying under the Diploma in Infocomm Security Management (DISM) course. I chose this course as I am interested in the related subject matter and that this is the future I want to be part of. I have already made amazing friends that I will embark on this journey with and I am looking forward to the next 3 years of my life.
